Quantitative Proteomics Services

Our mass spectrometry facility specialises in a number of relative quantitative proteomics techniques which have been developed over a number of years. These include metabolic labelling, namely SILAC (Stable-isotope labelling with amino acids in cell culture), isobaric labelling techniques – iTRAQ and TMT 6- & 10-plex, and label-free quantitation. We analyse a range of samples including cell lysate, IP’s and tissue. Included in the results workflow is data analysis using the most up-to-date software packages. We have experience in using Mascot, Proteome Discoverer, MaxQuant, Progenesis QI, Scaffold and PEAKS.

Some common applications for quantitative proteomics include:

Interacting protein networks

Biomarker discovery

Differential protein expression due to treatment/stimulation etc.

Pharmacodynamics

Post-translational modifications

The approach you use for quantitation of proteomes will depend on the type of system you are using whether it be cell culture based, tissues or even serum. FingerPrints can provide the necessary expertise to develop a strategy for you and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of any of the techniques mentioned. For further information please contact the facility to discuss your requirements and for a quotation.
